PBL Projects: This week, students began working on their PBL projects. PBL stands for project-based learning. Students can choose to work independently or in a small group to construct a project on life cycles. Their projects focus on teaching others about the life cycle of either a frog, chick, butterfly, ladybug or plant. Students are conveying this information through a shoe box diorama, PowerPoint, or PuppetEDU presentation. You will have the opportunity to see our class present all of their research and hard work on May 17th from 9:30-10:30 in our classroom! We are so excited to share our projects with you! Field Day: Our field day is on Thursday, May 16th! This year, field day will not be rescheduled or moved inside due to inclement weather. We are hoping for a beautiful, sunny day! Please remind your child to pack a change of clothes, water bottle, and to wear running shoes next Thursday! Book Donation: Our classroom library is continuing to grow, but we can always use more books! If you have any old books that you have been wanting to give away or get rid of, please donate them to our classroom library. The second graders in my class next year would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! We had a blast at science force! Thank you to all of our parent volunteers!
Have a great weekend! Ms. Warren

Specifically, we are learning about the life cycle of a plant, chicken, butterfly, and frog. This week we put our chicken eggs into incubators, and received our ladybug larvae and caterpillars. Our class is very excited about seeing the life cycle of different animals firsthand! Math 2.2: In math we are wrapping up our unit on geometry. Today, students will take the unit test on polygons, partitioning shapes, rows vs. columns, and pictographs. We had so much fun on our field trip to the Botanical Garden!
